Kevin Lum, MD

Dr. Lum was born and raised in Hawaii where he graduated from Kamehameha Schools.  Dr. Lum has been intrigued by the Sciences since childhood and decided early on to dedicate his career to helping his community by attending medical school and becoming a Physician.

Dr. Lum pursued his medical degree at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii where he completed his studies in 1997.  Always looking for excitement and high energy, Dr. Lum completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Summa Health System in Ohio.

Through his training, Dr. Lum remained clear about his desire to return home and began practicing Emergency Medicine at Kuakini Medical Center.  Over the span of two decades Dr. Lum held several Physician Leadership positions from 2000 to 2019.  His many professional and administrative accomplishments landed him at the helm of the ‘Ekahi Health Lifestyle Management Programs as Medical Director from 2016 to 2020.

In 2020, Dr. Lum took his talents to the healthcare insurance industry. As the Medical Director of MDX Hawaii, he led a large team through innovative implementation of clinical services and related reimbursement for Medicare beneficiaries and their providers.

In 2022, Dr. Lum joins WorkStar as Medical Director in charge of an expanding team of providers and staff and overseeing WorkStar’s first extension across multiple clinic sites.  His leadership and steadfast commitment to serving Hawaii’s people exemplifies our company motto: Guardians of the Injured! 

In his spare time, Dr. Lum enjoys surfing, playing soccer and spending time with his family.

Eric Ngo, MD

Dr. Eric Ngo was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Coming from a family of physicians, he took an interest in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Ngo completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at Baylor College of Medicine in 2016 and his anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Science Center in Houston in 2020. During his time in Houston, he rotated through several world-renowned hospitals including MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Texas Heart Institute, and Memorial Hermann Hospital System. After residency, he completed a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Duke University in North Carolina in 2021.

Clayton Everline, MD

Dr. Clayton Everline was raised in Austin, TX.  He holds his Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Hyperbaric Medicine from Saba University School of Medicine, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley in California.

With over 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Everline has treated many thousands of patients with a variety of medical and traumatic injuries, which range from exposure to both common and adverse situations and environments. 

As an avid surfer and sports enthusiast, Dr. Everline has served as on-site physician with the World Surf League, University of Hawai’i Athletics, Chaminade University, St. Louis HS, Moanalua HS, and Pearl City HS.  He is currently affiliated with the Hawai’i International Polo Association. Notable accomplishments include the publication of Surf Survival: The Surfer’s Health Handbook, as well as numerous medical publications.  Voted one of Honolulu Magazine’s Top Doctors 2015-2021.

Carl Hodel, MD

What do Dr. Carl Hodel and the legendary Daniel Boone have in common? They both hail from Boonville, Missouri, a small farming community which further secured its place in history as the start of the fabled Lewis & Clark expedition!

After high school, Dr. Hodel attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Physics. The lure of warmer weather and lifestyle of the West Coast brought him to California. He pursued a Ph.D. in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley and was then accepted into the prestigious University of California, San Francisco Medical School. In 1974 he completed his degree and entered the Queen’s Medical Center internship program where he fulfilled a rotating Med Surgical program in 1975.

He began his career as an Emergency Medicine physician with Hawaii Emergency Physicians Association and went on to become Board Certified in Emergency Medicine in 1984. He joined the team of Emergency Room physicians at Kaiser Permanente in 1976 and continued there until he retired in 2007. Dr. Hodel joined Work Star in November 2009.

Dr. Hodel is happily married with two children and enjoys surfing, skiing, trail riding, horses and pets.

Terri Pacheco, NP-C

Terri was born and raised on Oahu where she graduated from Pearl City High School. 

Terri’s interest in the medical field developed during a summer internship at Leahi Hospital, caring for Hansen’s Disease patients. The positive feedback she received caring for patients, hearing their life stories, and working closely with other healthcare professionals altered the course of her life. 

After high school, she graduated from University of Hawaii at Manoa earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, and enjoyed a successful carrer caring for patients’ oral health for 15 years. 

She returned to the University of Hawaii to pursue a degree in Nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) then continued to graduate with honors earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), with a minor in Public Health.  She is a current and participating member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Terri is happily married with three children. She is involved in a variety of community service activities and is an active member of the Pearl Harbor Hawaiian Civic Club. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. 

Her passion is to provide the optimum care for patients’ health utilizing evidence-based research, experience + collaboration, industry best practices, and technological advances, while acknowledging/addressing each patient’s physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. 

Terri joined the healthcare team at WorkStar in 2013.

Kaylyn Cooper

Born and raised in Denver Colorado. Received bachelor’s in health and exercise science from
the University of Arkansas. Completed her physician assistant school and training at Rocky
Mountain University of Health Professions in Utah. Worked at a spine and pain management
clinic for 3 years in Salt Lake City until relocating to Oahu with husband and dog. Enjoys hiking,
playing soccer and traveling.

Scott Blair

Scott Blair

Scott Blair, a native of Southern California, was actively involved in various sports and outdoor pursuits during his formative years. Following stints in baseball, basketball, and soccer, he eventually transitioned to track and field, competing as a Division I athlete at both the University of Colorado and Northern Arizona University. Unfortunately, his collegiate career was marred by multiple injuries, which piqued his interest in the field of medicine and, in particular, orthopedics. In 2012, Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University.

Following his employment in physical therapy in California, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in 2017. He subsequently underwent orthopedic rotations in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where he provided treatment for non-operative orthopedic conditions with the administration of trigger point injections, joint injections, and non-narcotic medications for a period of 4.5 years. In 2021, he and his wife relocated to Hawaii with their dog to be closer to family residing in Honolulu. In his leisure time, Scott indulges in beach visits, hiking, and golfing.

Todd Uchima

Raised on Oahu and a graduate of Pearl City High School, Todd subsequently volunteered at Pali Momi Hospital ICU, as well as various other departments including Imaging, Operating Room, Rehab, and Pharmacy. The fulfilling experience of helping others and contributing to their recovery proved to be a highly rewarding pursuit.

Todd holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, followed by a second Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His academic pursuits culminated in the attainment of a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

With a professional tenure spanning 17 years at WorkStar, Todd has garnered extensive experience and knowledge, including a recent year-long stint in Neurology. His expertise has been instrumental in contributing towards the betterment of the community by facilitating the healing of individuals.

When not at WorkStar, Todd works part-time with the Hawaii Air National Guard, specifically supporting the Wing’s mission as a PA in the 154th Medical Group (MDG). In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, as well as biking and playing bass guitar.
