Dr. Richard Badke was born and raised in Salinas, CA, an area also known as Steinbeck Country in honor of the novelist John Steinbeck. He attended the University of Southern California and earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He performed graduate Chemistry work at UC Berkeley until attending medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.
He trained in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Saint Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh and then opened a small clinic in his home town of Salinas for 15 years. He moved to Oahu in 2014 and he resides in Honolulu with his three sons who attend UH Manoa majoring in Computer Science and Astrophysics. He is a Master Diver and accomplished guitarist. He has lost an astounding 170 pounds since 2012 by eating a paleo like diet and running an average of 60 miles a week. He follows the example of Dr. McCaffrey and the other practitioners at WorkStar Injury Recovery Center by providing excellent care to patients of the Leeward Community and is currently accepting new patients. His areas of practice include weight loss, sports medicine, chronic pain, worker's compensation, automobile accidents, neuromuscular medicine and musculoskeletal care.
