An active member of the medical community for over 18 years, Dr. McCaffrey has overseen the treatment of more than 20,000 injured patients. After leaving his position as Chief of Occupational Medicine at Kaiser-Permanente Hawaii he founded WorkStar™ in 1990. Dr. McCaffrey has served as President of the Honolulu County Medical Society and presently resides on the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Medical Center. He has been featured in Hawaii Business, Hawaii Investor, The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii’s Voice and on Olelo’s “Health is Wealth”.

The WorkStar Injury Recovery Center provides specialized care for those injured at work, play or on the highway. State of the art conservative care methods and techniques are utilized to restore patients to pre-injury status.
Falls are the leading cause of non-fatal injury-related hospitalizations and emergency room visits in Hawaii. Last year, the annual number of injuries from falls in Hawaii resulted in 78 deaths, 3,616 hospitalizations and 15,866 ER visits. The costs associated with injuries results in more productive years of life lost than any other cause.
