What do Dr. Carl Hodel and the legendary Daniel Boone have in common? They both hail from Boonville, Missouri, a small farming community which further secured its place in history as the start of the fabled Lewis & Clark expedition!
After high school, Dr. Hodel attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Physics. The lure of warmer weather and lifestyle of the West Coast brought him to California. He pursued a Ph.D. in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley and was then accepted into the prestigious University of California, San Francisco Medical School. In 1974 he completed his degree and entered the Queen’s Medical Center internship program where he fulfilled a rotating Med Surgical program in 1975.
He began his career as an Emergency Medicine physician with Hawaii Emergency Physicians Association and went on to become Board Certified in Emergency Medicine in 1984. He joined the team of Emergency Room physicians at Kaiser Permanente in 1976 and continued there until he retired in 2007. Dr. Hodel joined Work Star in November 2009.
Dr. Hodel is happily married with two children and enjoys surfing, skiing, trail riding, horses and pets.
