Dr. Brandon Shirai

In 1979 Emergency Medicine became a recognized speciality in a historical vote by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

This field of practice is based on the knowledge and skills required for the diagnosis and management of acute and urgent illness and injury.

Dr. Brandon Shirai, Board Certi.ed in Emergency Medicine, is a 6 year veteran of Hawaii’s hospital emergency rooms. He brought his unique set of skills and training to the Workstar Injury Recovery Center in January of 2012.

Born and raised in Hawaii, he graduated from Waiakea High School, attended University of Hawaii at Hilo and went to Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Shirai completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Self described as a “typical local boy” that prefers shorts and slippers, Dr. Shirai is dedicated to caring for Hawaii’s patients whether injured at work, play or on the highway!
